MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES & COMMUNITY CARE

Carewatch aims to provide a person centred, holistic approach to care, that enables people with mental health problems to take control of their own lives, living as independently as possible.

We have a range of services to meet the assessed needs of each person we work with - this enables services users to:

  • Be in control of their own services and develop and promote their independence
  • Use our support to maintain or improve upon the skills needed in everyday life; cooking, shopping and budgeting for example
  • Have opportunities to access social contact and support
  • Access support enabling the person to retain important relationships and any leisure or social activities they value
  • Access support if those people who wish to build new roles and relationships within mainstream provision

RESPITE SERVICES FOR FAMILY & CARERS

We also offer support, advice and respite to carers and other family members where necessary.

The Carewatch basic value is to provide a range of good quality services and choices, which meet the entire needs of the service user - we focus on all aspects of the person's life.

By doing this we ensure that the people we support and their carers and families are treated with dignity. We promote respect and maximise independence, and ensure these principles are considered at all times.

TREATING THOSE WE SUPPORT WITH DIGNITY

To achieve this, our support workers are fully trained in the basic Principles of Mental Health Work we recognise the importance of involving the service user and their carers and families in any discussions or decisions regarding their own support packages.

By listening to our service users and their carers and families, we at Carewatch believe we can offer the quality support people demand. We aim to meet the needs of people who use our services in a way that fits in with there own personal choices and preferences - they way they want it.

Carewatch is fully committed to working to the Mental Health National Service Framework (England & Wales) and to promoting the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, in developing effective services for people with severe and enduring mental health problems.

Carewatch believes that everyone has a right to control their own lives, and should have the support they are entitled to, to achieve this way of living.
