COMMUNITY CARE FOR THOSE WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES

People with a physical disability have a right to live full and inclusive lives within their local communities. Carewatch's aim is to empower disabled people and to develop opportunities with them to participate as equal citizens.

We provide good quality home support services that provide outcome based maintenance and routine personal care activities, appropriate to the assessed needs of people.

People with a physical disability or sensory impairment can be supported by Carewatch to have access to a range of good quality services and choices that enable them to:

  • Be empowered and have an effect on improving their quality of life
  • Be able to live as independently as possible
  • Be able to enjoy rewarding and meaningful lives
  • Have a very strong influence in the ways that services are planned and provided

We provide a range of services for people who have a permanent disability and find it difficult to carry out daily tasks in their home as a result.

Our Support Workers visit people in their own home whilst also providing a wide range of support services to help with everyday tasks outside of the home, such as visiting the bank, shops, attending social activities and integrating into the life of their community.

PROMOTING MAXIMUM INDEPENDENCE AT HOME

Our Carewatch teams offer assessment, advice, rehabilitation and support to people with physical disabilities in order to promote maximum independence at home and to enable full participation in their local community. Working with the person in their own home, specific goals are set.

This holistic approach focuses on all aspects of a person's life; ensuring people remain active and therefore less likely to need further intrusive support.

This also ensures people we support and carers are supported in a way which is appropriate to, and respectful of, their religious and cultural backgrounds.

Dignity and independence are the key themes of our support that enable people to take back control of their lives.
