FIELD CARE SUPERVISOR (FCS)

The FCS role is integral to maintaining and building on the quality of care and support provided by each Carewatch office.

By 'spot checking' teams of care workers the FCS can ensure care workers are punctual, working to the agreed care plan, completing care tasks professionally and thoroughly - in short, quality control.

A Field Care Supervisor would also provide training to care workers whilst in the field, and act as a support in case of incident or potential challenging situations for care workers.

The assessment of new service users also forms a large part of the FCS role, as they are involved in the initial stages of talking to the person and working with them to identify possible their needs, wants and features of their own home environment.

By knowing their care teams, a FCS is also able to match certain service users and care workers together, and work with the Care Coordinator (based in the office) to achieve this. The effective management of changed care schedules, and assigning care workers to calls that need filling due to care worker absence etc. also falls to the FCS.

After hours, there may be (depending on the size of the office) an FCS 'on call' - the office when closed may direct people ringing to a phone held by the FCS, in case of service user emergency, or care worker needing support.

The FCS is a vital point of contact for service users, care and support workers, care coordinators and care managers.

Please note that all applicants must have previous experience of providing home care services.
