The role of a Carewatch home care manager

A Carewatch home care manager takes overall responsibility for how each office is run, particularly maintaining our high standards of quality. Usually holding an NVQ4 or equivalent, and preferably but not essentially, will have a business development background, the care manager ensures that the records of service users, and employees are up to date.

By working with the training manager, the care manager ensures training, appraisals and supervision needs of home carers and office staff are met - including requirements and changes in the latest legislation.

The care manager may report directly to the branch manager, franchisee, or other senior member of staff depending on the size or structure of the office.

Participating in the growth and development of the business is an important aspect of the care manager role, along with promoting and representing Carewatch to purchasers of bulk packages of care, for example local authorities.

Depending on each office, there may be some responsibility and involvement with PQQ's and Tenders.
