East Midland’s Top Home Care Manager Award Nomination
05 October 2011
Carewatch’s Always There Leicester branch manager Steve Varney has made it to the finals of The Great East Midlands Care Awards 2011 which means he is recognised as one of the top home care managers in the East Midlands. The Home Care Registered Manager Award is one of 21 awards to be announced at a ceremony in Nottingham on 7th October, hosted by Vanessa Feltz.
Steve was secretly nominated for the award by two of his staff and he is thrilled that he has been shortlisted. Steve has worked in the care industry for 18 years, joining the Carewatch Leicester branch as Assistant Manager three years ago after working as a senior care worker.
“We are all supporting Steve whatever the result,” said Carewatch Leicester co-ordinator Kerry. “Everyone at Carewatch Leicester is delighted that Steve has been shortlisted and feels he thoroughly deserves his place as one of the finalists given the hard work he puts in. He does a wonderful job not only with the 62 members of staff he oversees but also goes the extra mile for his service users ensuring any problems or concerns are dealt with promptly. ”
The Great East Midlands Care Awards are part of a series of regional Great British Care Awards and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The awards have received support from across the social care sector, including the Adult Directors of Social Services (ADASS), Department of Health, the English Community Care Association (ECCA) and the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE).
The winners will go forward to the national finals to be held at London’s Royal Courts of Justice next summer.
