LOCAL AUTHORITY CARE PURCHASES
If you think you may be eligible to receive funding for your care or support from your local social services, then please contact them first. If you have been told you are liable for the payment of your care, please review our guides to purchasing care using personal payment agreeements.
Local Authorities in England, and Wales, and Health Boards in Scotland have all commissioned Carewatch to provide care and support on either a block or spot contract basis for many years.
As Local Authorities are looking to increase value for money within allocated budgets, Carewatch is an economically viable option. By putting quality first, we can ensure the prices agreed are true economic forecasts of quality care in the community. At Carewatch, we aim to get it right the first time, and every time to ensure a constant, affordable efficiently run service on behalf of the local authority.
We currently are accredited with 60 local authorities, in areas such as mental health, learning disabilities and specialist care, as well as the traditional care for elderly frail people. We routinely work in partnership, formally and informally, with health and social care agencies, housing providers, voluntary agencies, regulatory bodies, training agencies, families and friends, and other key stakeholders, to ensure improved quality of services for our service users.
Carewatch have access to a wide range of expertise across the Carewatch network. Within Carewatch business support services we have senior staff who have worked extensively in:
- People with Challenging Behaviours
- Learning Disabilities
- Mental Health
- Children and Families
- PCTs
- Quality Assurance
DEVELOPING NEW PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL AUTHORITIES
We welcome opportunities to develop new ways of effective service delivery with Local Authorities.
We have been working with BILD (British Institute of Learning Disability) over the past 18 months developing our approach to person centred planning and outcome focused approaches. Although this initially focused on learning disabilities, increasingly the model is being adopted across all client groups.
Our Specialist Services Development Manager is working with the Social Care Institute Excellence (SCIE) on a reference group overseeing a project looking at the cost of Out-of-Area placements for people with LD and complex needs.
As we are a franchised network, many of our local owner-operators sit on various local care committees and boards, and are involved in their local community.
As a franchisor are members of:
- UKHCA (of which our Managing Director Andrew Wilson is Vice-Chair)
- Ceretas
- BILD
- REC
- Scottish Care at Home
We are constantly evolving and strengthening our care model and working hard to maintain and build upon our quality. Click here to read about some of the events we have attended and hosted ourselves recently.
As a national franchisee network and organisation Carewatch has access to a wide range of expertise, across all client groups. We are committed to working in partnership not only with other professional stakeholders who are directly involved with the service users but also with local communities.
We are actively exploring ways in which our company can demonstrate Corporate Social Responsibility, and contribute to the development of sustainable communities.
