The Future of Care – the next 20 years
With 20 years of experience in delivering high quality home care, Carewatch is a highly adaptable company, well positioned to support the future of social care in our local communities, while also providing local employment for compassionate people who want to support the ever growing demand for care in the home. Carewatch delivers this care through 154 locations spread throughout England, Scotland and Wales and are run by Carewatch Managers or by Carewatch Franchisees.
The Carewatch Franchise Conference aimed to seek input from its Franchise network, in the formulation of new care giving ideas, and identifying and sharing best practice. This year’s conference, as well as celebrating 20 years, had a key focus on the future for social care, on being a strong platform that is prepared to take on the challenges of the future, with quality services, technology, training, and larger workforces.
Carewatch began in Brighton in 1993 with a small office and due to the quality of services underpinned by an ethic of personalised and high quality home care, the demand for their care increased and by 1994 Franchise offices were opened throughout the country; 22 offices opened during the 1990s. Between 200 and 2007, Carewatch opened a further 53 offices. During 2009, Carewatch acquired several home care businesses to expand their national coverage and today can deliver care throughout most of the UK.
Today, Carewatch is providing 200,000 hours of care a week, 30,000 hours per day, and 47,000 individual care calls across the country every day; during the conference alone, Carewatch will have provided 100,000 care visits.
Carewatch also held an awards ceremony to recognise franchisees and their growth in business, even during these times of cuts and financial pressures. The awards included recognition of care workers who are the forefront of the business.
