Dementia Dogs is here to support people living well with dementia

25 June

There are currently three dementia dogs that have passed their training and are living with a person with dementia and their carer, supporting them with their daily needs.

The dogs were specifically matched to their new families as it’s crucial that the dog and its potential new family have good chemistry and work well together, so that the project works to its full potential.

The initial research phase has lasted nearly two years, ensuring that the project works well.

The aim is that by summer 2015 the Dementia Dogs project will have progressed to a developed model to role out nationally.
