Extra Care Schemes

Extra Care Schemes

Carewatch operate services in 18 extra care housing schemes nationally and is rapidly growing.

An extra care scheme is purpose built accommodation in which varying amounts of care and support can be offered, and where some services and facilities are shared enabling older people to live independently in their own homes and have a ‘home for life’.

We provide personal care and support in a variety of extra care schemes. Our portfolio of 18 ECH schemes consists of:

  • Colebrook House
  • Cottesmore House
  • Cranbrook

Within our Extra Care schemes we support the elderly, physically disabled, learning disabled, individuals with dementia, challenging behavior, mental health and complex health needs.

Dedicated staff are on hand 24-hours a day to provide people with support as required. We understand that our services and team need to be an integral part of the functioning of an extra care scheme, have full working knowledge of the building, the facilities and the opportunities and resources that the local community can bring.

Our extra care schemes have various onsite facilities for all residents and guests to enjoy and be involved with including:

  • Social activities e.g. bingo, arts/crafts, games
  • Gardens
  • Library/IT suite
  • Restaurant
  • Lounge/communal areas
  • Community shop
  • Hairdressing salon
  • Alarm services
  • Repairs/maintenance
  • Private parking

We provide support to service users to access the activities of their choice on our schemes and, wherever possible, help them to remain part of wider community activities.
