Sunday 14th September is National Dementia Carers’ Day; Recognising family dementia carers across the UK
There are 670,000 carers of people with dementia in the UK
National Dementia Carers’ Day is a UK-wide awareness day on Sunday 14th September.
There are currently 800,000 people in the UK who are living with dementia, and many are cared for by loved ones, friends and other important people in their lives.
Dementia carers hold a wealth of knowledge. National Dementia Carers’ Day has been created to recognise, celebrate and share this support.
At Carewatch, many of our local teams have been giving flowers to people who are caring for loved ones with dementia. We offer carers respite and additional support so they can carry on with their own lives, enabling them to support their loved one to their best.
National Dementia Carers’ Day 2014 is themed around Creating Special Moments
How you can join in on the day – share a special moment
You can join in by sharing your story, tell the world what being a dementia carer means to you; sharing a moment of joy and helping someone to live well with dementia can change lives.
