We are delighted to share that we have selected our 'I Care' winners for this quarter. I Care is an internal Carewatch staff reward and recognition scheme to recognise those doing an excellent job, and going above and beyond the call of duty.
We receive thousands of nominations from across the UK - we usually pick one winner for each category, however we had so many amazing Care Worker nominations that we had to have multiple winners, and here are the winners:
Care Worker of the Quarter
Maureen ‘Mo’ Andrews (Carewatch Isle of Wight) – Mo has provided excellent care to a service user who suffers from dementia, spending time with them doing word searches and even teaching her how to crochet again. Mo has shared some of her ideas with her colleagues and new members of staff during induction too.
Barbara Knowles (Carewatch Kendal) – Barbara provided help to a colleague on her day off who walked in on a service user who had sadly passed away. Her support was invaluable.
Donna Barton (Carewatch Wirral) – Donna provided support to a palliative service user. The service users wife described Donna as a ‘rock of support’.
Marion Mullen (Carewatch Livingston) – Marion is a valued member of the team and regularly gives up her own time to help others, including bus trips and evening activities. She also helped train a team for the CAN Olympics earlier this year, and personally took part in the volunteer tug-of-war at the Senior Games, whilst wearing high heels!
Brian Stretton (Carewatch Stirling) – Brian has been providing support to a service user with Downs Syndrome. Brian has helped improve the young mans life by teaching him how to interact with others, undertake an educational programme, and more recently start to live an independent life in supported living accommodation.
Branch Staff of the Quarter
Sarah Arshad (Carewatch Chandlers Ford) – Sarah has taken on additional duties, providing support to the training team and helping Care Workers to complete their Safe to Practice refresher book, even travelling to distant locations to ensure all members of staff are compliant.
Jackie Timmins (Carewatch Blackpool) – Jackie is always willing to help and will travel to service users very far away if needed to. She recently encouraged a service user to leave the house and to visit the dentist for the first time in four years!
Registered Manager of the Quarter
Michelle Halloran (Carewatch Livingston) – Michelle recently worked endlessly to ensure her branch retained a local authority contract, ensuring both staff and service users alike were retained under our current agreement with them.
Support Staff of the Quarter
Jo Garner (Quality, Training and Compliance Administrator) – Jo has recently joined Central Support Services as a Quality, Training and Compliance Administrator. Jo is always willing to help fellow colleagues and teams around her, and will go out of her way to assist, whilst upholding all three company values.
Well done to the winners, and all staff who were nominated.
