Carewatch finalists in 4 categories and a WINNER of the Lifetime Achievement Award
We’re proud to announce that Gillian Story won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Scottish Care Care at Home and Housing Support Awards 2015. The award was presented by Michelle McManus.
The Lifetime Achievement Award rewards exceptional achievements in the care at home sector. Competition was fierce but Gillian’s outstanding strength of character, passion and drive for the care sector stood her above the rest.
Gillian, from Carewatch Inverclyde, Scotland has worked with Carewatch for 10 years and began her long career as a Care Worker. Before that, Gillian worked at Tesco, she was always the one who took great care to ensure customers were well looked after so when she saw a job advertised for beginning a career in care, Gillian knew that was her calling.
She is highly regarded and respected by all staff, management and customers. The most common words used to describe Gillian are: inspirational, amazing, supportive, caring and dedicated.
Her team speaks very highly of her, no matter what Gillian has been through, you can always count on her for support and a smile.
Gillian says: “I’m delighted to win this award and would like to thank my colleagues for their support and encouragement.
“The job is so rewarding although sometimes very challenging, so it’s amazing to get this recognition.”

On night for the awards, Carewatch Inverclyde’s Francis Ford was named a finalist for ‘Carer of the Year’ thanks to her outstanding commitment to customers. The firm’s office team also made finalist for ‘Care Services Co-ordinator / Administrator’ for overcoming tough operational challenges in the last year.
Gillian is a much deserved winner of the Lifetime Acheivement Award.
