Every year there is a Memory Walk in Blackpool called ‘Illumathon Memory Walk’ which is organised by Trinity Hospice.

Sharon Astor has worked with us at Carewatch Blackpool for over 12 years and is a valued member of our home care team. She is a very caring person who also looks after her 88 year old dad.

This is Sharon’s 8th year of doing this walk, to raise money for Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice; she always wears her famous bunny ears and tutu.

Last year, Sharon raised over £800.

The event is a ladies only walk and there was a huge turnout, with adults and children all dressed up in comical outfits to raise money and awareness.

Sharon said: “I absolutely love getting involved in the Illumathon Memory Walk. This is our eighth year raising money for Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice. The event continues to grow and it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to raise money for our charities, as well as embracing the famous sights of Blackpool with friends and family.”
